From 22 to 24 June 2026, the International Humanitarian Law Summer School was held at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, jointly organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Throughout the three-day programme, participants had the opportunity to acquire and further enhance their knowledge of international humanitarian law through lectures delivered by distinguished university professors and legal practitioners, as well as through the analysis of case studies.
We are particularly proud that three students of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica—Adnan Vojvodić, Amina Mujanović, and Merjem Husejnagić—participated in this year’s Summer School and represented our Faculty with distinction through their active engagement.
The Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica also contributed to the academic programme of the Summer School, as Prof. Dr. Enis Omerović, Professor of International Humanitarian Law at our Faculty, was among the lecturers. In his introductory lecture, he addressed the concept, historical development, sources, and fundamental principles of international humanitarian law, as well as the relationship between jus ad bellum and jus in bello.
We congratulate our students on the successful completion of the Summer School and are confident that the knowledge and experience they have gained will serve as a valuable foundation for their future academic and professional development in the field of international law.
