Welcome to the official website of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica.
This institution has been my professional home for thirteen years. Over time, our Faculty has grown, as does every community that strives to remain faithful to knowledge, the rule of law, human rights and freedoms, and solidarity. Today, as Dean, I feel a special responsibility – not only to preserve what we have built, but also to carefully, step by step, turn our ideas into reality, seek useful knowledge, discover new opportunities, and strive for excellence. At the heart of our work are the students – current and future – to whom we owe an education that is competent, modern, challenging, humane, ethically grounded, globally relevant, socially responsible, innovative, interdisciplinary, inclusive, practice-oriented. An education that does not merely produce graduates, but individuals capable of critical thinking, taking responsibility, and refusing to give up in the face of injustice.
The Faculty of Law in Zenica today stands as the result of the dedicated and responsible work of many generations of professors, associates, students, and administration who, in this team, have recognized more than just a workplace or a place to study – they have recognized a community. In assuming the duties of Dean, I deeply respect that continuity, as well as everything that has previously been done to develop our institution. The Faculty we are building together is not merely a place for learning legal norms – it is a space that encourages critical thinking, questioning, academic curiosity, and scholarly integrity. Our task is not only to educate future lawyers, but to develop young people who understand society, the law, and their own role in shaping it.
Our focus will be on further strengthening the quality of teaching, supporting scientific research, nurturing an academic culture based on respect and dialogue, and fostering student development through curricular and extracurricular activities. Special attention will be devoted to the internationalization of studies, the exchange of knowledge and experiences with partner faculties and institutions from professional practice, as well as the digital modernization of the teaching process and administration. We are particularly recognized in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and beyond for the Zenica moot court story – a unique initiative that has grown into a moot court school, a dimension of learning, trial simulation, and practical training that connects students, teachers, and legal professionals from across the country and the world.
